Randy loves Kerrie, that much is obvious, and everyone loves Kerrie and Randy. These two sweethearts had the most romantic and intimate backyard wedding at their lakefront home in Pewaukee. Friends and family of the bride and groom lent their skills and talent to pull off this stunning DIY wedding. From the hand collected driftwood, the beautiful floral arrangements, the men’s grooming, hair and make-up, their officiant, that boat, etc., etc., etc., this wedding had touches of love from everyone. I’ve know Kerrie for many years, we first met at the BonTon photo studios, and I loved her from the moment I met her. When she asked me to photograph her and Randy’s wedding day I was simply thrilled! Randy and Kerrie are both a joy to be around and a delight to photograph (could either of them be any more beautiful?!), and I am so happy to share the story of their wedding day.

Erin + Aaron’s Barn at Trinity Peak wedding was one of the most inspiring weddings of the 2017 wedding season. These two started planning their wedding from California and finalized it from New York. Now that is an impressive achievement. With the help of friends and family they got married near Erin’s childhood home in a stunning outdoor ceremony. Not wanting to be separated before they exchanged wedding vows they got ready in the same suite at The Delafield Hotel. Keeping family central to the day, the wedding party was made up exclusively of their sisters and brother. There were so many gorgeous details to photograph, but my favorite was photographing their simple (yet so chic and modern) fronds that decorated their tabletops in the magnificent barn. I hope to see more of that in future events! Erin and Aaron’s love story unfolded seamlessly throughout the day and it was a true pleasure capturing their first day as a married couple. Take a peek – I’m sure you’ll agree!

Joe and Lauren’s Performing Arts Center Wedding took place on a beautiful day in downtown Milwaukee. They tied traditional and non-traditional elements into their big day, and that modern combination made this wedding such a joy to photograph.
One of my favorite aspects of their wedding day was how Joe and Lauren incorporated their Kohler-Andrae engagement session into their wedding decor. The invitation suite featured one of my favorite images of the two of them on the sand dune boardwalk overlooking Lake Michigan. Their gorgeous water colored, mouth watering, three tier cake by Sweet Tooth was perfection, and incorporated the colors of the sky and lake from the engagement session. They also had a stunning poster size print made from another stunning engagement session image to welcome guests to the wedding and reception (it looks like a movie poster!!!). Petals completed the look with their bold and bright pops of color against the gold accent color that featured prominently throughout the wedding decor. Keep scrolling to take a peek and see the wonderful inspiration that Joe and Lauren’s wedding has to offer!

Lake Park is not only a picture perfect backdrop for wedding photos, but also for the wedding ceremony as well! The beautiful stage on the north side of the park is something of a hidden gem in the Milwaukee wedding scene. Luckily for me, Michael and Laura scooped up the wooden framed structure along with the classic East Side mansion Villa Filomena. Laura and Michael had to plan their wedding while living a long distance apart. Laura was finishing up her medical studies here in Wisconsin while Micheal was practicing dentistry in Seattle. During Michael’s visits home we were able to fit in an engagement session (check it out here) where we wandered around the ever changing Walker’s Point neighborhood (it doesn’t even look the same anymore!). I really loved documenting this hectic, crazy, fun, long distance, exciting, loving time in their lives. Michael and Laura are truly two of the sweetest couples and I think their wedding reflects that sentiment perfectly.
