Jeff + Karli got married at Schlitz Audubon Nature Center on a day that threatened to storm at any moment. The beauty of Schlitz Audubon is that there is the most accommodating and lovely wrap around covered porch that plays host to rainy days such as theirs. We were able to beat the rain with a first look and gorgeously moody portraits prior to the ceremony. Family was truly the epicenter of Jeff + Karli’s big day as they eschewed traditional roles in favor of those who have known and loved them the longest. It is always such a privilege to see a family who loves, laughs, and dances the night away. Just take a look at the dance party that ended the evening, and no one danced harder than the bride and groom.

Ami and Geoff’s stunning Milwaukee wedding was full of style and grace. Their wedding ceremony took place at the majestic Basilica of Saint Josaphat, and I am convinced that there is not a more beautiful church to get married in (it’s nothing short of ah-mazing!). They had a getaway car Mercedes-Benz 560SL that took them straight to the Hoan Bridge for a photo-op, and maybe it’s a coincidence that the color matched the soles of their Louboutins…but somehow I don’t think so. To top it all off the historical architecture of the Milwaukee County Historical Society made for the perfect location for their showstopping reception. One of the best weddings hands down of 2018.

Matt, or Neighbor Matt as my husband and I affectionately call him, met us under neighborly circumstances many years ago in Milwaukee. At about the same time as our friendship was beginning Matt started dating Alissa. We felt as if we were there through their entire courtship…since we lived next door! One evening sitting under our pergola enjoying some refreshments, the happy couple announced their engagement to us and also asked me photograph their wedding day. Of course I was thrilled and honored by the opportunity – maybe even a wee bit giddy! The bride + groom wanted to make the wedding as personal as possible so they eschewed tradition for their unique take on matrimony. It was an affair full of love and generosity as friends lent their house for the location, the caterer Underground Kitchen and was a college friend of Alissa, Courtney of Courtney Joy Floral (an insanely talented floral designer and farmer at Three Brothers Farm to boot!) is one of Alissa’s dearest friends, and the bride’s cousin Caley Conway (just google her) serenaded the crowd. Take a look for yourself!
