Let me introduce you to the coolest wedding that I have had the pleasure of photographing. Katy and Colin planned their wedding in 2 months. Yes, you read that right. Two. Whole. Months. You see, this was more than a wedding, this was a good-bye party. San Diego was calling their name and while they packed and prepared to move they also planned their wedding. What a wedding it was! They held their wedding and reception at the Polish Falcon Hall in Riverwest (a rad neighborhood in Milwaukee) right down the block from their apartment. The ceremony was so intimate and thoughtful that I laughed and cried along with Katy, Colin and their guests. After they said, “I do”, we walked around their favorite places in the neighborhood and nearby Gordon Park for photos of just the two of them. But, the real party started after the delicious pizza dinner…let’s just say that Katy and Colin’s friends know how to boogie down, and how couldn’t they, with a killer DJ and two live Rock ‘n Roll bands!? Oh, yeah. This wedding was, as the Polish say, chłodny.
