Kohler-Andrae State Park Engagement Session

Andrew and Tia’s Kohler-Andrae State Park engagement session in Sheboygan, Wisconsin is one of my favorite places to take portraits. The landscape is undeniably stunning, Lake Michigan is set against the rolling sand dunes, and sun-aged boardwalks cross the mounds like arteries. We had the most beautiful golden hour to take these engagement portraits that are the perfect blend of sophistication in the natural environment. Just wait until you see their wedding photos!

Kohler-Andrae Spring Engagement Session

Morgan and Sean chose Kohler-Andrea state park (of my all time favorite locations) for their impossibly romantic engagement session.  These two are so in love have the best chemistry in front of the camera.  The day of the shoot was overcast and windy, but the mood that mother nature created made the shoot even more beautiful.  Don’t be afraid of an “un-perfect” weather day, I think these photos may sway you to see the beauty in the soft color tones of textured cloudy skies and the drama of a little wind.    Engagement_2017-01Engagement_2017-02Engagement_2017-03Engagement_2017-04Engagement_2017-05Engagement_2017-06Engagement_2017-07Engagement_2017-08Engagement_2017-09Engagement_2017-10Engagement_2017-11Engagement_2017-12Engagement_2017-13Engagement_2017-14Engagement_2017-15Engagement_2017-16Engagement_2017-17Engagement_2017-18Engagement_2017-19Engagement_2017-20Engagement_2017-21Engagement_2017-22Engagement_2017-23Engagement_2017-24Engagement_2017-25Engagement_2017-26Engagement_2017-27Engagement_2017-28Engagement_2017-29

Lakefront Winter Engagement

Sometimes the things we want just don’t work out.  Thomas and Emily really wanted a snowy winter engagement shoot…but mother nature had other ideas and our initial lakefront winter engagement session was scraped.  After 8 weeks of snow dances we decided to call it and go with a grey monotone theme instead.  I’ve always loved the large rocks at the edge of where Lake Michigan meets Milwaukee, and we decided to tempt the wintry waves with our presence.  To really play up the grey apparel and starkness of late February I chose to shoot mostly with a high speed black and white film for effect.  Of course I had to bring out some color film to play up the bold coral lip Emily had on with the rosy/orange tones of the granite and the blue sky contrasting perfectly.  Thomas and Emily made the best of their less than ideal engagement session, and quite frankly I love thinking outside of the box and creating one of a kind imagery for my one of a kind couples.

Sheridan Park Engagement Session

I absolutely love Sheridan Park in St. Francis, just south of Milwaukee gracing the shores of Lake Michigan.  Vivian and Chris’ engagement photo session looks like it spanned multiple locations, but in reality we had all that variation at our fingertips from the parking lot to the lake.  These lovebirds coordinated both of their looks, but kept it simple and true to their own personal style.  Just take a look at that dress number!  It’s so hard to pick a favorite from this session, but I think the dainty pink blossoms really show the beauty of the season and tied in (unintentionally, but) perfectly with their second look.

Lake Michigan Engagement Session

Let’s take a journey back in time to warmer days, shall we?  Early this fall Jeremy and Maranda showed me how adventurous they are by following me down a steep cliff to reach our top secret photography destination.  These two just brought the adorable.  They are so in love and boy oh boy does it show.  Now I have to patiently make it through winter and wait until next summer for more of these magical moments.  Let the countdown begin!Untitled-1Blog-30 Untitled-3Blog-9Untitled-2Blog-6 Untitled-5Blog-17 Untitled-6 Blog-11
