Thomas + Emily go to together like Frank Lloyd Wright and organic architecture. Although Thomas is a few years younger than me I remember him from high school (he’s always had a great sense of personal style). Fast forward many years later, our paths cross again, we meet again at ArtAsia (an Asian antique store and art gallery) where I had a part time gig. Emily entered the picture as an intern at the store before she headed to Thailand to teach English. When she came back to Milwaukee, I noticed a sweetness starting to develop between her and Thomas. In fact everyone at the store noticed, and we kept tabs on them waiting for a dating announcement to be made. It took a LONG while, but it finally happened. Years later, after starting my very own photography business, I get a text from Thomas saying that he had proposed on the rooftop of Artasia, and wanted me to shoot their wedding. Nothing beats that feeling. Nothing. I always knew deep down they would get married, but I was beyond surprised and thrilled that I would be the one to document their wedding day. Take a look at the bespoke beauty the Thomas and Emily curated for their big day.
Thomas owns Wilo Design, so he had to put his personal touch on the decor. He designed and made the banner, as well as the open cubes that contained flowers designed by a family friend.

There was so much love at this intimate Green Lake wedding. Josh and Angie got married last September at a stunning private residence right on the lake. The weather gave us a bit of everything that day including rain, wind, clouds, sun, etc. Talk about a wedding that had it all – ha! Luckily for us the weather cleared up just as I arrived, and the the outdoor wedding was still a go. There were so many things that I loved from their wedding, but my favorite was the sweet first look on the front porch of the grand estate. Josh and Angie really have a special kind of love, and I couldn’t have been more thrilled to be able to document their beautiful wedding day.

This Best Place wedding was one of the most intimate and beautiful urban weddings I’ve ever had the pleasure of photographing. Michael and Amanda call Chicago home, but wanted to incorporate Amanda’s Wisconsin roots in their wedding day. Of course they chose the quintessential Milwaukee venue to host their nuptials and reception – Best Place at the Historic Pabst Brewery. After getting ready at the stunningly gorgeous Brewhouse Inn and Suites, Michael and Amanda had their first look at Zilber Park, and then headed over to the venue to say their vows. Have I mentioned how laid back and funny these two are? They were the most chill couple I have ever photographed, and encouraged all my vacant lot inspirations – it was true match made in heaven for this rule-breaking photographer.

One of my favorite weddings of 2016 was Rita and Tory’s perfectly styled modern soiree. The vision of this intimate affair was created and executed by the bride herself. Rita is a very talented local interior designer so you can imagine that no detail was left to fate. One of my favorite moments of their wedding day was when Tory saw Rita for the first time as she exited the hotel’s vintage taxi cab. After their first look we spent a few minutes taking portraits down the street incorporating Milwaukee’s architecture, playing into Tory’s profession. I loved the simplicity and ease of their wedding ceremony. Rita and Tory walked each other down the aisle and said their “I do’s” in front of their closest friends and family. I am so honored to have been chosen to document Rita and Tory’s intimate and inimitable day.

The first time I met Katie and Andy I knew immediately I wanted to photograph their wedding. These two light up any room they are in, and every interaction with them is full of big belly laughs. Lucky for me, they chose me to document their summer wedding in Lake Geneva! Katie and Andy live in Illinois, but fell in love with the idea of having their wedding day at Hawk’s View in Lake Geneva. They loved the big sprawling property, rustic interior, and gorgeous covered outdoor ceremony space (and frankly I did too!). Katie and Andy chose blue and yellow as their wedding colors and that combination was perfectly weaved in throughout the entire event. The lemonade stand, Fuji Instax camera, bridal shoes, and blue vintage bicycle were hands down my favorite use of that color scheme. Check out this inspired wedding for your self!
