Randy loves Kerrie, that much is obvious, and everyone loves Kerrie and Randy. These two sweethearts had the most romantic and intimate backyard wedding at their lakefront home in Pewaukee. Friends and family of the bride and groom lent their skills and talent to pull off this stunning DIY wedding. From the hand collected driftwood, the beautiful floral arrangements, the men’s grooming, hair and make-up, their officiant, that boat, etc., etc., etc., this wedding had touches of love from everyone. I’ve know Kerrie for many years, we first met at the BonTon photo studios, and I loved her from the moment I met her. When she asked me to photograph her and Randy’s wedding day I was simply thrilled! Randy and Kerrie are both a joy to be around and a delight to photograph (could either of them be any more beautiful?!), and I am so happy to share the story of their wedding day.

There was so much love at this intimate Green Lake wedding. Josh and Angie got married last September at a stunning private residence right on the lake. The weather gave us a bit of everything that day including rain, wind, clouds, sun, etc. Talk about a wedding that had it all – ha! Luckily for us the weather cleared up just as I arrived, and the the outdoor wedding was still a go. There were so many things that I loved from their wedding, but my favorite was the sweet first look on the front porch of the grand estate. Josh and Angie really have a special kind of love, and I couldn’t have been more thrilled to be able to document their beautiful wedding day.

Backyard weddings make my heart sing a little happy song – I mean what style of wedding is more intimate and cozy than that? The day Kurt and Kala got married the weather threatened to drench their outdoor wedding, but the sun was determined to shine between the fits of rain. With mother nature on our side a first look happened within a family of pine trees, friends and family joined in the most beautiful of wedding ceremonies, toasts were made, the cake was cut, and dances danced. Kurt and Kala’s son held a special role as the “cutest man” and he walked his father down the aisle as they waited for Kala to join them. They shared their handwritten vows beside crisscrossed bunting as the clouds parted just enough to let the sun shine upon their marriage. I’m a sucker for details and this wedding had an overabundance of them all perfectly placed around their backyard venue. They had mismatched vases full of flowers, handmade hearts and wreaths constructed from the pages of books, and even a family of birds in a nest that topped the homemade cake. Take a look and see for yourself!
